Gemsbok are hunted in all our CVS concessions – our premier Kalahari Concession, Far North Limpopo Concession, Western Limpopo Concession, as well as other areas in South Africa.
Premier Kalahari Concession
Situated in the most remote and least populated region of South Africa, our Kalahari Concession spans 240 000 continuous acres, making it the largest single unit hunting block in South Africa. We are privileged to have the exclusive hunting rights to this magical piece of Africa.
Far North Limpopo Concession
The reserve spans almost 50 000 acres of continuous wild Africa, carefully managed to ensure that it maintains its natural ecological integrity. Famous for its massive Baobab trees, the topography varies from bushveld plains to rocky outcrops.
Western Limpopo Concession
This spectacular 25 000-acre wilderness provides unforgettable panoramic views from the camp, which is set on top of a towering rocky outcrop. This is an excellent area to combine with our Kalahari or Zululand areas.
South Africa (All other areas)
The Eastern Cape Province boasts large farming and ranch land, comprising flat open plains as well as mountainous country.
South Africa (All other areas)
Our Zululand and Umkomaas areas in KwaZulu-Natal offer challenging and exciting hunting – Zululand with its thickly-wooded sand forests, grassy open plains; and the Umkomaas Valley’s open rolling grasslands and thickly-vegetated valleys and gorges.

Also known as the giant oryx, the Gemsbok is one of Africa’s most magnificent antelopes. Native to the Kalahari, gemsbok inhabit open country and can survive in harsh, dry conditions. They can go without surface water for months on end as they are able to absorb moisture from their food.
One of the gemsbok’s most striking features are its horns, which are carried by both males and females. When seeking your trophy, remember that the cow’s horns tend to be even longer than those of the bull.
With its striking white facial markings and javelin-like horns, the gemsbok will become one of your most prized trophies.
We welcomed Roger for his 2nd safari with PH Hans Vermaak which took him to 3 areas – all of which offered 100% free-range hunting. Roger collected a variety of fine animals including a fabulous Roan, Waterbuck, Nyala and Bushbuck & Gemsbok. Roger and Coenraad also had the opportunity to catch up having not seen each other since the mid 90’s!
