Named after its elusive nature, Nyala means “shifty one” in Zulu. The Nyala is native to the Zululand area.

Male Nyalas are known for their distinctive white manes, white chevrons between the eyes, yellow socks and hanging body hair. Only male Nyala have a spiral set of horns. The females are an orange-brown colour with white stripes down their flanks.

Male Nyalas are strikingly beautiful antelopes, which is why many hunters opt to have their prized animal fully mounted.

With its elusive nature, the Nyala is a challenge to hunt, but makes for a most attractive trophy.
