We stalked this bull for close to 3 hours and despite being exposed and close to other game, PH Scruff and Quin manged to stay undetected.
The bull they were after had laid down to soke up the morning sun. They were 150 yards from the sleeping bull when out of nowhere, the bull pictured made his way across the open area to join the cows that were surrounding the sleeping bull. When he reached a decent shooting range of just over 200 yards Quin took him down with a couple of well-placed shots. Stunning and unusual bull in the salt, nothing like hunting the Grey Ghost.

BUSHBUCK DOUBLE UP!
Scruff and Caleb tried their hand at some hunting between safaris. The stars aligned in the KwaZulu Natal Midlands.
They were positioned 800 yards apart. Caleb was laying flat in the grass on the edge of a thicket where Bushbuck often come out to feed just after sunset. His plan worked and he took his beautiful ram at 40 yards just as it detected him. He managed to get his shot off in the nick of time, a split second later and the Bushbuck would have fled.
Scruff spotted a Bushbuck at over 250 yards, managed to get to within 175 yards and squeezed off his shot knocking down his awesome Bushbuck.
It’s extremely rare to get a double up on any game, especially the shy and elusive bushbuck.
After removing the backstraps the next morning the carcasses were delivered to the local butcher who will process the delicious meat for our family, friends and staff to enjoy. Caleb cooked the livers which were devoured by the team.
This is a day that Caleb, Scruff & the team will never forget….great memories, great animals, a great day in the wonderful outdoors doing what we love. A trophy also = meat!
