• The Overberg / Southern Tip of Africa (Base 1): Located near the coastal fishing town of Struisbaai, this beautifully restored farm cottage offers luxurious comfort, modern amenities, fine dining, and breathtaking views.
• The Karoo (Base 2): Set deeper inland in the dramatic, arid Karoo, this base provides a contrasting big-sky experience in a restored ranch house that is rustic in character yet exceptionally comfortable.

Option 1: Hunters Base – Near the Southern Tip of Africa

A restored historic farmhouse on a working Cape farm

Set in the heart of the Overberg district-where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet only a short drive away-this beautifully restored thatched farmhouse offers the perfect blend of rural tranquillity and modern comfort. Located between the charming town of Bredasdorp and the fishing village of Struisbaai, it is an ideal retreat for hunters seeking privacy, authenticity, and unpressured hunting on low and high fenced privately owned properties.

Inside, the lodge features:

• Four beautifully decorated en-suite bedrooms (sleeps up to 10 guests)
• Thick, cool farmhouse walls, screened concrete floors, and a cozy winter fireplace
• Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV, DSTV, dishwasher, and all comforts of home

Outside, expansive views stretch across golden fields of canola, wheat, and barley toward the distant mountains. Farm life surrounds you-sheep and cattle graze nearby, with resident game such as springbok, bontebok, eland and kudu moving across the property.

A swimming pool, outdoor firepit, and exceptional meals make this a favourite with hunters and families alike. The 2.5-hour drive from Cape Town takes you through some of the most scenic Winelands and farm country in the Cape. This region is malaria-free.

Just three hours from Cape Town, near the quiet town of Ladismith, hunters stay in a comfortable renovated farmhouse lodge on a 23,000-acre carefully managed game ranch. This is prime Karoo hunting country.
